5 Reasons To Watch, “I’m Drunk, I Love You”
NOOD NA!
By Jel Tordesillas

Na-friend zone ka na ba? Ako rin.

…also that dude from the Jollibee commercial. <insert breaking heart>

Ang sakit noh?

I think every one of us, girls, can relate to Maja Salvador character in the movie—a girl who has always been in love with her college best friend (played by Paolo Avelino). In the movie, the two go on a road trip to La Union to settle their feelings for each other.

This mysterious desire to see that kind of heartbreak played on the big screen by actors I love is one of the reasons why I am looking forward to what looks like an indie masterpiece.

Here are five others.

#hugot #hugot #hugot

“Ikaw nalang yung umaasa, kahit yung pag-asa nag-give up na sayo.” [Excuse me, I have to go cry now.]

Yes to hugot lines galore! The trailer was full of them and I look forward to hearing what else the scriptwriters’ have up their sleeves.
Reunited again!
A big, “Yay!”, to Maja and Paulo being reunited. Their chemistry in, “Bridges of Love”, was amazing. Now, we get to watch them together…on the big screen!

It’s starring Paolo Avelino (Hello?!)
Need I say more? ❤

Fate of Maja in the movie
We all know we want them [the characters of Maja and Paulo] to end up together, but what if the movie decides to go on a different direction? What if Paolo Avelino actually ends up with Jasmine Curtis-Smith’s character?

[noooooo!]

La Union
Of course seeing La Union on the big screen is a definite plus! I look forward to great cinematography!

Are you also looking forward to, “I’m Drunk, I Love You”?

Kita-kits sa sinehan!

Things, “Sakaling Hindi Makarating”, Reminded Us
by Jel Tordesillas

After hours of typing, I felt like I deserved a much-needed break. I craved a good Filipino watch. Thankfully, “Sakaling Hindi Makarating”, was showing. Once I found out that it involved a road trip, I was in!

Basically, the movie revolves around Cielo (Alessandra de Rossi), a heartbroken girl, trying to decipher who was sending her mysterious paintings set in places around the Philippines. Cielo uses the paintings as clues and decides to go on a road trip of the pictures’ locations, hoping to find who the sender of the letters were. The movie also stars Pepe Herrera and JC Santos.

While the movie didn’t end the way I wanted it to, it was still a good watch. The movie was able to remind me of life’s lessons. Sometimes, because of the busyness of life, I tend to overlook these lessons, so it’s always a good thing when someone reminds us of these things.

Life doesn’t always meet your expectations

We plan and we plan, but sometimes, we just have to let go and let life take its course.  Yes, it hurts when life doesn’t turn out the way we want it—especially when it comes to love. These things, however, happen for a reason. In the meantime, we just have to be strong and see life’s silver lining.

Sometimes, pain can be the seed of strength and learning
No one wants to feel pain, but there are times when pain can be a blessing. It makes us stronger and it makes us learn from the experience, opening our eyes to things we didn’t realize before.

Some people aren’t meant to stay
…but they were definitely there for a reason. The best thing to do is to be grateful for the time they were there. The people we encounter in life mold us into the people we are, no matter how short our time with them is.

The Philippines is a paradise just waiting to be discovered
I really need to travel the Philippines more. There were beautiful shots in the film that reminded me of the fact that I should really explore my own backyard.

Support Filipino movies
Especially indie movies. There is so much talent in the Philippines that need the support of filmgoers.  If we don’t support our own, who will?

Sfera PH Fall-Winter 2016 Collection

A Boho-City look for the occasion.

Earlier today, I was lucky to have attended the launch of the Sfera PH 2016 Fall-Winter Collection.

With my blogger friend Issa.

(Sfera) is a Spanish fashion brand under Madrid’s renowned El Corte Ingles Group of Companies and opened its very first store in Asia in the Philippines in 2014, at the heart of Metro Manila, on the second floor of SM Makati. In 2015, they opened stores at the 2nd Level Mega B of SM Megamall and in the new premium mall of the south, on the Upper Ground Floor of SM Seaside City Cebu. In September 2016, the brand opened up its first department store corner at The SM Store in SM Aura Premier, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The premium fast-fashion brand offers clothing lines for Men and Women and is known for being able to stay on-trend every season while maintaining its good quality of clothing and rather affordable prices.

I have been a fan of Sfera for a while now. The brand features chic and wearable clothing a “lazy fashionista” like me can sport. I was really excited to see the new collection and I was not disappointed! There are so many pretty and edgy pieces to choose from, with looks varying from 80s rocker, classy (Gucci-inspired), and minimalist. I was really drawn to the classy, girly bit of the collection, though the other looks also caught my attention.

Here are the pictures I took from the mini-fashion show that was held at the event.

After the fashion show, I was super pumped to shop. Not that I need any prodding for shopping. Hello?

Trying out some pretty dresses. Geez, can I just have them all already?

Like the fashion-obsessed person I am, I took pictures of some of the looks I liked from the display. So gorge.

What I bought. 🙂 I’m so excited to wear them.

Thanks so much Sfera PH for an awesome afternoon!

Lazy Fashionista Style Hack 1: The Slightly Loose White Blouse/Shirt

When I am super clueless or lazy to think of what to wear, I turn to the, “slightly loose white shirt”. This somehow makes what I wear more chic, plus it’s slimming. I like to make sure that it’s a good quality white shirt—it’s something I invest in. It’s better if the white shirt has a unique pattern(see outfit 2), embroidery or cut (see outfit 1) in order to add an “ooomp” to your look.

I pair the white shirt/blouse with a statement bottom that lifts up the look because of its print, style, etc. I also try to accessorize as much as possible. It’s always a good idea to invest on good looking accessories  that you can match with a variety of outfits.

My Five-Product Makeup Ritual Deconstructed

In my last article, I mentioned five products that I use whenever things like my schedule or my skin don’t permit me to put on much makeup (see article).I decided to do another entry on it showing how it actually looks like as I put on the products. 🙂 I hope this additional info helps.

Click the picture to enlarge and to see my notes.

What’s your shortest makeup ritual? What are your go-to products? Share below in the comments. 😀

I’m done! Easy-peasy. 🙂

My Fab Five: What I wear when I don’t feel like wearing makeup

Like many people out there, there are days when I’m just so lazy to put on makeup. Also, because I have eczema, there are days when I can only put a small amount of makeup. Bad timing if I have to attend an event or party on that particular day. (#panic #malas #badtiming)

I finally figured how to deal with this dilemna. Here are the five things I turn to when: 1.) My skin is acting up; 2.) I am very, very busy; and 3.) I am very, very lazy or 4.) I want to give my skin a break but I still need to look presentable. There are days when I also completely scrap makeup—this is necessary, in my opinion, to maintain healthy skin.

My Fab Five:

1.) Kate Powder Foundation: I just put this on the eye area to cover my eye bags and to highlight that area. I also put powder in the nose area because it tends to get oily.

2.) Kate Blush RD-1: To look fresh and polished, I turn to this product. It makes my skin glow.

3.) Lip Balm– Since my lips is prone to chapping, it is essential that I wear this.I also wear this on “no makeup” days.

4.) Medium Colored Lippie: For this set, I put Pink Sugar’s Desire, but you can swap it with a medium colored lippie that looks good on pictures.

5.) Eye brow Pencil: Fixing your brows can make all the difference.

Of course, if your doctor says no makeup—please don’t wear any! Your skin’s health is the priority. Always take care of your skin. Also, remember to REGULARLY remove your makeup at the end of the day.

Tada!!!

Read my next article showing how I do it.

Beyond the Wall: The Beauty of Moving On

Moving On.

It’s a term usually associated with a past relationship. The truth is though, people move on from way more things in life- it can be a failed test, a stolen phone, a lost friendship, a humiliating experience, etc. The list goes on.

Moving on is a test of strength. When you’re in the middle on moving on, it always seems like you’ll never be able to get past the finish line. It’s like you’re always looking back at the way things were before, to how you wished things had turned out in the past.

The thing is, the past will only be just that— THE PAST. Nothing will come out of looking back—it won’t change no matter how many times you look back at it, wishing that’s not what you saw.

Unfortunately, it always looks differently when you’re looking at it from the middle.

Thank God, there always seems to be that jolt that inexplicably happens. Something that pushes us beyond the wall of yesterday, allowing us to be liberated from hanging on to whatever it is.

All of us have been constantly moving on from stuff. And if you think about it, what would
life be like if you didn’t have to move on from anything? Life would definitely be easier.

But  would you be better?

Something to think about.

FEATURE: K&K INTRODUCES A NEW KIND OF PERSONAL

I’ve always been fond of unique finds. It excites me whenever I see something cool that reflects my personality. Likewise, I also get super giddy whenever I receive something of the kind. It’s because for me, purchases are more than purchases.  They can be a form of expression or a mirror of the life that I live.

One of the great things that I have discovered lately is K&K Personal Store (K&K).  Owned by Kat De Guzman, K&K sells customized items that are perfect for gifts (weddings, baptisms, etc.) as well as personal purchases. You can even use them as centerpieces for these special occasions!

Right now they are selling frames of different variants: Littera, Littera-II, Apellido, Numero, and Retrato. The frames have a clean, and minimalist look and feel, but at the same time, really creatively done! I particularly like how Retrato captures the personality and character of a person/s. The Littera variants, on the other hand, are three dimensional—made of wood, cloth, and glass. So cool. ❤ ❤ ❤

K&K came together last September 2015 out of Kat De Guzman’s (Kat) sheer love for meaningful gift and personal items owned and given by people. Kat wholeheartedly believes in loving and celebrating life and the people we live it with, and letting this show in the things that surround us. Growing up surrounded by close friends and family, Kat developed and imbibed an attachment to people and to the moments that she experienced.

For me, a gift is something more than a purchase. It is something that celebrates lifeand the relationships between people. K&K came about after realizing that there is a need for unique and special gifts for all occasions. Unique in a sense that each family would have a different interpretation or appreciation of their personalized gift,” Kat explains.

K&K Personal Store was born of Kat’s (owner) love for personalized gift and home items. A relationship between or among people is something to celebrate. It’s somethingK&K wanted to center on, whether it be something to be given or something to be personally owned.  Follow K&K on Facebook at facebook.com/knkpersonalstore at Instagram at @knkpersonal store.
